Dante Alighieri will be the protagonist of an unusual itinerary, alternative to traditional tourist routes, which will wind through three Florentine cultural institutions: the Dante’s House, the Franco Zeffirelli Foundation and the Medici Museum.
Will be a new narrative and achieved through new technologies such as immersive rooms, video mapping, holograms, talking paintings and virtual realityto delve deeper into the life and work of Supreme Poet.
The president of the Tuscany Region expressed satisfaction with the “three cultural institutions of the highest order that find themselves in the celebration of Dante. Dante’s relationship with Florence and above all with Tuscany is extraordinary, every time someone addresses him in the Divine Comedy he is called ‘o Tosco’ precisely because of his love for the places of Tuscany”.

We leave onMay 8th at Medici Museum custodian of works of art including paintings and sculptures, original documents, historical relics, faithful reproductions and multimedia installations that illustrate a story that spans almost four centuries of history. From the skull by Gian Gastoneto thehologram which reproduces the grand ducal crowns, passing through the largest collection in the world of engraved Medici portraits. In this journey through history there is no shortage of unexpected encounters, such as the one with Supreme Poet which was the reference model for all of the compositions of Lorenzo the Magnificent, and whose Comedy the Medici wanted illustrated by none other than Botticelli.
The May 15th at the center of the museum itinerary of the Franco Zeffirelli Onlus Foundation is found there room number 14, the multimedia one, entirely dedicated to the great unfinished project, the film adaptation of Dante’s Inferno which Zeffirelli began working on at the dawn of the 70s. The hall is made as one suggestive immersion in the Maestro’s preparatory work. Visitors will be able to admire the 55 large plates which represent the first 18 cantos of the Poem scenographically projected on the ceiling and walls.
The may 22 inside the Dante’s House Museum a is planned multisensory journey driven by the most advanced technologies such as immersive rooms, video mapping, holograms, talking pictures and virtual reality, to get to know the father of the Italian language and author of the Divine Comedy. It will also be possible to see an immersive show, “The Love that moves the sun and the other stars” which, through visual and sound suggestions, allows us to accompany Dante on his otherworldly journey, through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, accompanied by the voice of the well-known actor and dubber Francesco Pannofino.
