After many rumors about the next host of Sanremo 2025, Rai CEO Roberto Sergio is now speaking. The manager spoke freely during a recent interview and gave some clues as to who the new helmsman of the Sanremo event could be.

We’ve been talking about incessantly for months who will be Amadeus’ successor at the helm of the Sanremo Festival. The names of some of the most well-known faces of RAI have been mentioned, including Antonella Clerici, Carlo Conti, Alessandro Cattelan and Stefano De Martino, but at the moment there is still no absolute certainty as to who will present the singing event.
The most popular is the host of Tale e Quale Show, but viale Mazzini has not yet released any official communication on the matter and the fate of the event is still pending. Now, giving some clues is none other than Rai CEO Roberto Sergio who, as a guest on RTL 102.5, made some sensational statements to Federica Gentile.
The issue regarding Sanremo 2025 is currently one of the main ones to be resolved for Italian public television, given that the Festival requires months of organization, between the setting up of the scenography, the choice of special guests and, last but not least, the most important point, the choice of the competing artists. Amadeus has left a legacy that is difficult to take on, due to (or thanks to) record ratings and thrilling shares, which make the task of whoever will replace him very challenging.
Sanremo 2025, Roberto Sergio opens up: “Enhance Rai resources”
To Federica Gentile of RTL 102.5, Roberto Sergio wanted to deny some news that has been circulating recently regarding the Festival: “Too much fake news daily: Sanremo al Nove? False”. And regarding the prospect of Carlo Conti as the new host of Sanremo, the Rai CEO outlined: “We saw it yesterday at the Davids. He has a career of 40 years”.

A sentence that can say everything or nothing but which was followed by a statement that left little doubt about how the Rai administration wants to manage the Sanremo issue. When asked who will present the event, Sergio replied: “We do not know. Paolo Bonolis is at Mediaset: at this moment we must valorise the people within Rai”.
There is still no certainty, therefore, about who will lead the new edition of the Festival. Time is running out, and the decision is leaving more and more people perplexed about such a delay, and impatient to know who will be the probably also artistic helmsman of the most important musical event in the country. Bonolis hypothesis removed it is probable that the management will end up in the hands of Carlo Conti againformer host of Sanremo from 2015 to 2017, but apparently the Rai top brass themselves are still uncertain about the future of the event.
