The coffee analyzed from an anthropological point of view between cultural identity, rituality, symbolism and socialization. Tomorrow and Wednesday at Angevin Male “Nu bbellu ccafè, the city days of Neapolitan coffee”.

There will be debates, workshops, tastings and even a work of art. Experts, roasters, authors of books and themed shows will participate and will discuss how much and how coffee is an element of aggregation that goes beyond being a simple drink.

The initiative

Sponsored by the Municipality of Naples, which has established a special City coffee culture day Neapolitan, the event is promoted by the Tourism Department. For the entire duration of the event, coffee will be offered free of charge to participants. Tomorrow at 10 am the inauguration with the mayor Gaetano Manfredithe tourism councilor Teresa Armato and the vice president of the city council Flavia Sorrentino.

There will be no shortage of interventions in the round tables by experts and citizen entrepreneurs such as Guglielmo Campajola of Caffettiera, Michele Sergio and Massimiliano Rosati of Gran Caffè Gambrinus. Among the various moments on the programme, on Wednesday afternoon “A coffee with the author”, with the introduction of the journalist Antonio Corbo.

There are many workshops and events for social purposes, as highlighted by the bartender and micro roaster Francesco Costanzo: «Leva Contest Face to Face, the Pump My Moka, a coffee tasting workshop with its final prize, another on filter coffee, training support for minors in the Futuro Community and a workshop dedicated to cappuccino and another on Italian breakfast. Through competition the bartender always puts himself on the line and thus develops himself.”

«We will bring a giant 2 meter moka pot and we will once again support, by collecting signatures at the counter, the candidacy of Neapolitan coffee as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity», explain Sergio and Rosati. Gaetano Bonelli, director of the collection of the same name at the Museum of Naples in Materdei, will exhibit ancient finds of the art of coffee in the Loggia room.

The show

But coffee is not only the protagonist at the Maschio Angioino: Saturday and Sunday the actress Veronica Mazza is scheduled at the Trianon Viviani theater with her show “The little blue cup”. The logo of the Citizen Day of Neapolitan coffee culture was created by the children of the School of Artistic Planning for Business of the Academy of Fine Arts coordinated by Professor Enrica D’Aguanno.
