“Treatment is a right, no more waiting lists” is the slogan with which Spi Cgil will fight the waiting lists in an even more incisive way from Monday 6 May.

Tomorrow morning, in front of the Cup offices in Trapani, Marsala, Alcamo, Castelvetrano and Mazara del Vallo, an information flyer will be distributed on how to request reimbursement from the ASP for healthcare services not provided within the time required by law.
“This is – says the provincial secretary of the Spi Cgil Franco Colomba – an experimental initiative which aims to urge the provincial ASPs and the regional government to reduce the waiting lists, which, to date, are extremely long and they do not guarantee the right to treatment”.
In particular, the Spi Cgil has launched an information campaign that illustrates the maximum time within which a diagnostic or hospital service must be guaranteed in the event that the request by the treating doctor includes a priority class: urgent 72 hours, short 10 days , deferrable 30 days for visits, 60 days for exams and scheduled for 120 days.

“We will fight – says Secretary Colomba – for the elimination of waiting lists because the good functioning of public health is a priority. From Monday 6 May, we invite pensioners and all citizens to our offices for more information and to fill out any forms”.
