The Board of Directors of the La Nosta Gent ets Foundation has been confirmed, again led by Alessandra Cavanna

Romagnano Sesia – The board of directors of the La Nosta Gent ets Foundation was recently reconfirmed for the new three-year period 2024-2026. The Council is composed as follows; Alessandra Cavanna leads the group in the role of President, followed by the other councilors Lucia Gamalero (vice president), Davide Garino (treasurer), Virginia Inzaghi (communications and social media manager) and Gaia Milanesi (secretary).

The work of the Foundation will remain the same, as provided for in the statute, but from 2024 some changes will be made to the historic competition that the Foundation organizes every year on bio-environmental themes. The board of directors, after a long evaluation and careful analysis of the trends of the competitions of past years, has decided to make a substantial change to the conduct of the competition, always in compliance with the provisions of the statute. The Foundation’s desire is for the competition to be aimed primarily at schools.

For 2024 the competition will be carried out and destined for the Bonfantini agricultural technical institute of Romagnano Sesia which will carry out an internal competition between classes on the theme described below: “Air pollution and climate change represent serious risks for public health and require policies integrated initiatives aimed at countering them and mitigating the effects, especially in the Mediterranean basin and in Italy in particular, considered global hot-spots of global warming. Climate changes also have important effects on the life of insects, especially as regards alien species: man favors their passive diffusion, climate changes favor their acclimatization and diffusion into new territories. The main challenge is the identification of measures that allow us to achieve climate objectives, reducing the impacts of air pollution to a minimum and at the same time, seeking innovative green solutions which, on the one hand, respond to the needs of modern agriculture and, on the other , reduce the invasion of alien insects.”

The aim of the competition and the research carried out by the students is to be able to study and investigate what has been described by contextualising it in the specific territory of Valsesia and the Novara area. Furthermore, it must be a potentially feasible project in practice.

The Foundation’s desire is to bring the competition closer to the new generations and that the result of the competition is then easily accessible to the entire population. Teacher Fernanda, our founder, has always had the new generations at heart. At the same time, the Board of Directors is already preparing the program of events for the three-year period. in particular, on Sunday 16 June the usual event of “Rebel Paths – In the footsteps of history – Towards Lake Baranca” will be held, as always in collaboration with Professor Orsi. Further updates coming soon. The Autumn edition of Sentieri Ribelli will be held on Saturday 5 October in an unusual place. More insights on our social networks in the coming months.
