Gianni Cenni visiting the Gescal Village: “The bowling alley abandoned and full of waste”

Another stage in the listening campaign of Gianni Cenni, centre-right candidate for mayor of Prato. This afternoon around fifty people accompanied Cenni (undersecretary Giorgio Silli was also present) in the streets of the Gescal Village, in San Giusto, denouncing situations of degradation and lack of maintenance. The postcard that summarizes the state of abandonment of the hamlet is the bowling green, abandoned for a few years and completely forgotten. “A structure let go – the comment by Gianni Cenni – a place neglected despite the citizens’ requests for an intervention that would restore dignity and livability. The bowling alley is full of waste, surrounded by dense overgrown vegetation, transformed into a makeshift shelter. A situation like this cannot be tolerated. On the website of the Municipality of Prato we read that the structure is closed for renovation from 1 April 2019 “until a date to be defined”. Where has the PD municipal administration been in recent years? And the promises a month before the elections from those who could have done and didn’t do it are useless, just as it is useless to propose themselves as a change because the path of continuity is clear and well traced”.

There are many problems that the residents of the neighborhood have brought to the attention of Gianni Cenni: “Potholes on the roads are a constant everywhere and we verify this every day, in every corner of the city and, of course, the Gescal Village is no exception. The commitment is to clean and rearrange the bowling alley which, once put back into operation, is a safeguard for the area and in particular for the garden in which it is located. An unkept garden, without benches and without games for children. What’s the point of a green area if families can’t use it because it’s completely devoid of furniture”?
