Olbia. Last day dedicated to Archeology with the important cultural initiative “From the Mother Goddess to San Simplicio”. Designed by Lions Club Olbia with the patronage of the municipality the three days, in the company of well-known specialists Paola Mancini, Rubens D’Oriano And Marco Agostino Amucano, aims to explore and celebrate the rich history of the city of Olbia, through a program of conferences and completely free guided tours to take place from 3 to 5 May 2024.

At 10:00 tomorrow, May 5th, at the Archaeological Museum of Olbia the conference entitled is planned “Olbia and surroundings in the Middle Ages” with professor Marco Agostino Amucano.

Also tomorrow at 4 pm a guided tour is scheduled low-medieval tower of S’Istrana and the remains of the church of San Nicola, called Santu Nicoleddu due to its small size, and which with its dedication gave rise to the toponym of the region San Nicola, on the outskirts of Olbia. A site unknown to most, which, thanks to the generous availability of the owner of the land, in 2017 was for the first time ever the subject of a visit and a field lesson also held by the medieval archaeologist Amucano. A happy return to the archaeological site after seven years which will involve participants in a pleasant and evocative walk in contact with nature. The meeting point for those who want to take part in the guided tour is at the Eni petrol station, along the SP 38 bis, continuation of Via Barcellona, ​​from which you will continue to the site.
