Alcohol and drugs at 13, “a question of education”

ROVIGO – Alcohol and drug abuse from a young age: this is the phenomenon that is also affecting Polesine, with peaks of young people around 20 percent attending the Serd due to heroin addiction. These are the data that emerged a few days ago during the Rovigo Serd Open.

There are fourteen-year-olds already being treated for alcohol abuse, young people who are increasingly turning to drugs. The problems, according to the children of Rovigo, are many, starting from the little education that they receive from an early age today. Furthermore, we get lost much more than before with all the distractions there are and there are fewer and fewer recreational centers where we can get together to play.

In fact, Giulia says: “There are many problems. I believe that the first is that too little is spoken about it and, when it is spoken about, it is always done in frightening and sensationalist terms without, however, really going into the merits of the issue, given that in any case an ordinary boy at a time anyone could come into contact with narcotic substances. Younger people need to be educated more, especially in schools, to understand the gravity and responsibility of what happens if they take alcohol or drugs.”
