The Tesla Cybertruck has finally landed in Italy, even if only as a show car. Elon Musk’s electric pick-up will tour several European cities and one of the first stops is Modena thanks to the Motor Valley Fest 2024 – where we saw the vehicle in person (photo: Edoardo Curioni).
The gigantic electric vehicle has attracted (and will also attract tomorrow 5 May) numerous enthusiasts of two and four wheels, even if it is only possible to admire it behind the cordons – therefore it is not possible to take a look inside, open the doors or the rear hatch. In any case, around the car you will find the Tesla employees who will be able to answer your curiosities about the car which – like it or not – has nevertheless become iconic.
An icon who came into the world in perhaps the strangest way possible, on a night that generated memes of all kinds and out-of-scale hype. We all remember the ordeal of steel balls thrown against the side windows, who would have to resist the blows. This was not the case and those same windows shattered, becoming in their own way a symbol. Many brands would have taken years to recover after a failure of that caliber, but Tesla instead stood out for immediately joking about it, later even launching ad hoc stickers to be applied to the windows of the Cybertruck to remember that emblematic moment.
Now that it is in Italy, the Cybertruck will also move to Rome, Milan, Florence, Padua and Verona, even if its destiny is to remain a show car, at least in Europe and in this stainless steel version. In the old continent it is impossible to approve a car of this type, furthermore the dimensions – we are talking about 5.68 meters in length – are specifically calibrated for the enormous North American spaces, in our cities a model of this size would have many difficulties. Who knows, maybe Elon Musk will create a special variant in SUV format (more compact and with standard bodywork) for the EU. It will be difficult but hope is the last to die.
