«The best I applied for in terms of competence and passion». Thus the president of the city council, Nilo Arcudi, presented on Saturday morning at Barton Park the members of the Perugia civic list, one of those in support of the centre-right mayoral candidate Margherita Scoccia. For Scoccia it is a “secular-reformist dream team” in support of a candidate who Arcudi defined as “balanced in her choices”.
The team Almost all the members of the team were present at the initiative, “men and women – it was recalled – of different skills and professions willing to put themselves at the service of the community”. The head of the list will be the regional official Francesco Nesta. In addition to Arcudi, there are the former Northern League member David Bonifazi, the lawyers Marco Brusco and Francesco Gatti, the director of the Perugina museum Cristina Mencaroni, Simone Minestrini (one of the promoters of the project for the construction of the Renato Curi stadium), the city councilor Emanuela Mori (elected with the Democratic Party in 2019, then moved to IV) and gradually all the others including officials, lawyers, entrepreneurs and employees «as a direct expression – it has been said – of the will and aspirations of the Perugian population».
Breakthrough There are also young faces in the team: a special mention was made for the Ascani student Lucia Stella, just eighteen years old. For all the names Scoccia spoke of “competence, experience and passion”. A team that requires “optimism, enthusiasm and presence” because “the city is with us, it wants continuity – claimed Scoccia – but also that leap in quality that we can give with the professionalism of each one and that the last five years have prepared”.
