The Noale house produced authentic 2-stroke jewels in the 90s. Take a look at the sale of one of the Doctor’s historic motorbikes.

We often and rightly talk about the capital importance that Max Biaggi had for the Italian brand, but Valentino Rossi also contributed to the RS boom. Aprilia has benefited from the success of numerous riders in the smaller classes over the years 90s before exploding, definitively, with the new course in MotoGP.

Valentino Rossi won two World Championships riding an Aprilia. The first in 1997 in 125 and the second in 250 in 1999. The Doctor’s faithful companion was the legendary RS. Now a spectacular replica of the Aprilia RS 421 that Valentino Rossi rode in 1998 has been put up for sale. The motorbike, on a visual level, is a faithful reproduction of the motorbike of the time. It is in showcase condition because every detail has been retouched. The restoration was complete, boasting a fairing that appears to have not even half a scratch. This is the livery used by Valentino Rossi on his Aprilia 250 in 1998.

The features and price of the Aprilia

This bike uses the chassis of a 1999 Aprilia RS 421. The owner who is selling it specifies that it is a “Banshee”, meaning it has the engine of a Yamaha Banshee, a 350 cubic centimeter twin-cylinder two-stroke ATV. In fact it has no tank underneath the legendary engine that drove the fans crazy in the stands but an engine modified in many aspects. On Pitstop TV you will see how a faithful replica of Rossi’s 2-stroke is born.

The engine of this curious motorcycle is followed by a list of important improvements and upgrades. Starting from the Brembo radial brake pumps, to the racing dashboard, Ignitech ignition, custom radiators, Mikuni carburettor, new chain and sprockets, with the sprocket moved to size, GP7 rear shock absorber customized by a tuner, RS250 forks rebuilt to the millimetre, Pro Bolt Bolts Titanium and much more. Even the gearbox is new with a Nova F2 replacing the ratios of the previous model.

The bike is for sale at £10,000, as the advert is published in the UK. For almost 12 thousand euros you would take home a legendary replica. Valentino Rossi would approve despite the change of heart. The bike, given its showcase condition, will sell like hotcakes. The list of updates is quite long.
