FASANO – A troubled season, made up of many lows and few highs, too many falls and slow but decisive highs, like the one last Sunday at the “Puttilli”.
A blitz, that of the Costantini gang in Barletta, which changed the fate of a season that seemed to be in free fall. The goals of Aprile first and of Persano and Dorato then, in addition to representing real news, allowed Fasano to cling with their last strength to an unexpected lifeline. But one last effort is needed.
90′ from the end of the 2023/2024 hostilities, Paganese will arrive at the “Vito Curlo”. The Campania team are already safe and although they swept away Santa Maria del Cilento last Sunday (4-0) they are not an irresistible opponent. A victory which, never more than in this case, would be worth an entire season given that the 3 points would remove the blue and whites from the disputes of the play-offs and would give them direct salvation regardless of the results of the other fields.
A series of connections which, with a good dose of luck (Dea which, this season, is quite indebted to Fasano) allowed this scenario to be created.
Almost everything seemed lost but Fasano has taken back the reins of their destiny and will try to rewrite it on Sunday, with a midfield without the suspended Lezzi and which will almost certainly see the stainless Facundo Ganci supported by Melillo and the young Kola.
It is unlikely that Costantini will move away from his 3-5-2, therefore still trusting the key men in the victory in Barletta.
The last 3 points to safeguard a corporate asset, Serie D, which has never been put at risk by errors and wrong choices like this year.
The victory against Paganese would write a happy ending to a season in which the management will be able to save very little, very little, for next year and for which the technical revolution will be necessary.
But first the last battle. If they don’t win, the playouts will remain, at home, against Gallipoli but around Via Salvo d’Acquisto they don’t want to hear about it. After the recent tensions, peace has been made with the fans who will continue to populate the steps of the “Curlo” en masse to push their favorites towards the goal in what, hopefully, will be the last exhausting ninety minutes of a very long season .
