Manduria: Accident at work in Brindisi, a 46 year old man from Latiana loses his life

Fatal accident in Brindisi

Yet another fatal accident at work in Brindisi. The one who lost his life this night was a 46-year-old from Latiano, his initials VV, who worked in the Brindisi sugar factory. The worker was engaged in maintenance work on a conveyor belt when, for reasons still under investigation, one of his arms was completely severed.

The worker, from what we learned, was an employee of an external contractor company that was carrying out maintenance work on the belt that connects the plant to the industrial dock of Costa Morena east. The dynamics are being investigated by state police agents and technicians from Spesal, the accident prevention service of the local health authority, who will report to the prosecutor on duty, Raffaele Casto.

Just yesterday we published the report from the Vega Engineering Occupational Safety and Environment Observatory on official Inail data which places the province of Brindisi in first place in Italy for the number of deaths at work in relation to the total number of people employed.
