Handball – Pontinia faces Teramo in the last match of the championship

Last match of the regular season for HC Cassa Rurale Pontinia who will receive a visit from Teramo today at 5pm. After this match, Pontinia will be able to dive into the Scudetto play-offs which will begin on May 8th and which will see Podda and her teammates engaged in a crucial match for the season. In the ranking of the women’s A1 series handball championship, the team led by coach Antonj Laera starts from fourth position with 29 points, the same as Bressanone who, however, has already played all the matches and will observe the rest period.

The visiting team, Staremo Tms Teramo, is currently in seventh place with 16 points and has already mathematically achieved salvation: the challenge will still be very intense as Pontinia will need an important performance to reach the play-offs for the Italian championship at the right pace and Teramo will want to end the season with a match played to the max to close the season in a prestigious way.

The elements for a hard-fought challenge are all there: on one side there will be Eleonora Colloredo, Pontinia’s best scorer, currently second in the ranking of the top scorers in the top league and on the other side Saida Rejeb, current leader of the special ranking of goals scored: 143 for the Teramo player and 127 for Colloredo who was consistently at the top for a good part of the regular season. With 104 goals scored, in the upper quarters of this special ranking, there is also Luisella Podda, second best scorer of HC Cassa Rurale Pontinia, followed with 77 goals there is Laeticia Ateba, who however arrived halfway through the season.

Among the potential opponents of HC Cassa Rurale Pontinia there could be Erice
