the police arrest two people from Brindisi

BRINDISI – They were caught with six guns, pyrotechnics, cocaine, hashish and bulletproof vests. A 50-year-old and a 41-year-old from Brindisi, both already known to the police, were arrested following a search carried out at a commercial business and related appurtenances in a district of the capital. Both are charged with illegal possession of illegal weapons, ammunition, pyrotechnic material, cocaine and hashish.

The activity was conducted by the policemen of the Flying Squad of the Brindisi police headquarters, with the support of two canine units from the local border police office. The search, which lasted several hours and involved a considerable area where there were also numerous fences for animals, led to the discovery of numerous illicit materials.

Specifically, thanks to the operational skills of the police and the impeccable nose of the dogs “Back” and “Africa”, it was possible to find and seize: 12 pyrotechnic devices hidden in a dog kennel; 6 pistols (2 revolvers and 4 semi-automatic) and around 100 bullets of different calibers hidden in a false bottom of a kitchen cupboard; a bulletproof vest and 2 two-way radios in the main hall of the establishment, while, in the external area, covered by dense vegetation, approximately 200 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of hashish and 1 precision scale.

As a result of the large amount of material found, attributable to the manager of the commercial activity and an employee, the two arrested were taken to the local prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
