Preparations are underway at Virus in view of the debut in the last phase of this very long and exciting season. There DAI Optical Virtus Basket Molfetta is preparing to compete in the promotion playoffs which will see it opposed in the final eight Sala Consilina Basketball.
In this phase the white and blues will represent Puglia being the only Apulian team to have accessed the promotion playoffs. After the fourth place obtained in the Play-in Gold, the team trained by coaches Carolillo is ready to compete against the best teams from southern Italy, protagonists of the Interregional Serie B championship.
After a season played practically always at the top of the rankings, for the white and blues there are no longer any calculations to make to dream of the B Nazionale. A dutiful reference must be made to the formula studied by the FIP which will decide the winning team of the playoffs, the same one that will rise to the National Serie B next season.
As underlined, 8 teams are admitted to the quarter-finals: in addition to Virtus Molfetta and Pallacanestro Sala Consilina, the draw includes Ragusa, Orlandina, Salerno, Messina, Milazzo and Reggio Calabria. The winner between Virtus Molfetta and Sala Consilina will face the winner between Messina and Orlandina in the semi-final.
Due to a better ranking, DAI Optical Virtus Basket Molfetta will face Sala Consilina Basketball at Pala Poli in Game 1 with a tap-off set for Wednesday 8 May at 8.30 pm; Race 2 will be held on Sunday 12 May at 6pm in Sala Consilina for a return to the Pala Poli in Molfetta in the possible Game 3 scheduled (only in case of a draw in the first two matches) on May 15th at 8.30 pm.
