As part of the checks aimed at verifying compliance with the rules for the protection of health and safety in the workplace and at combating “illegal work”, i carabinieri of the labor inspectorate unit of Benevento and of the station of San Bartolomeo in Galdocoordinated by the local company, reported in a state of freedom to the Judicial Authority a building contractor.
The military inspected a construction site set up for maintenance work on the sewerage network in a town in Val Fortore, noting that theentrepreneur had failed to draw up the operational safety plan, had not adopted the necessary precautions to avoid the danger of people falling into some voids and had violated the health surveillance obligations of employees, resulting in three fines for over nineteen thousand euros in his regards.
Following the investigations carried out on the people found working on the construction site, the Carabinieri raised the issue two administrative sanctions for more than nine thousand euroshaving found the use of an “illegal” worker with consequential suspension of activity until the regularization, which will have to be provided by the entrepreneur, who is the person subject to the investigation and – therefore – presumed innocent until the final sentence.
The control action of the territory by the Carabinieri of the provincial command of Benevento is carried out constantly and in synergy with the specialized departments of the Army in all sectors, as happened in this case, to guarantee safety in the workplace, health and correct employment of workers and – above all – to avoid serious accidents in the construction sector, which are increasing significantly in recent periods throughout Italy.
