Transport 492: Fermerci, alarm for the Pnrr construction sites and the “Genoa Blue Agreement” for the reduction of emissions in the port of Genoa

In the first part of the Transport 492 episode, we listen to the interview with Giuseppe Rizzigeneral manager Stop us, the association that brings together companies and railway operators which has raised the alarm about the Pnrr construction sites which are creating increasingly more difficulties as they cut the availability of railway routes for the transit of goods. The picture appears very worrying given that there is a 60% loss of capacity for this year and in the next the lines affected by construction sites will increase.

In the second part of the episode we talk about a agreement important signed in Port Authority in Genoa. This is the voluntary agreement called “Genoa Blue Agreement” for the port of Genoa, aimed at reducing the impact of atmospheric emissions from ships arriving and mooring in the port.

On the initiative of the Port Authority of Genoa, in cooperation with the Municipality of Genoa and the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, the Agreement represents a joint commitment, with a view to creating a system, between the public and private actors involved to face together the challenge of atmospheric emissions in one of the most significant port areas in Italy, considering that all the ships that call at the port of Genoa moor adjacent to the urban fabric of the city.

We have listened to the voices of participants and signatories, Stefano Messinapresident of Assarmatori, Mario Zanetti confitarma president, the admiral Piero Pellizzari maritime director of Liguria and the deputy minister of infrastructure and transport Edoardo Rixi.
