The 41st edition of Macfrut, the international exhibition dedicated to the fruit and vegetable sector, is scheduled for 8 to 10 May 2024 at the Rimini Expo Centre. The Puglia Region is the partner region of this edition for its role as national leader in the production of table grapes, and will be present with an equipped institutional area in pavilion B1.
“We will have the opportunity to deal with buyers from every corner of the world and to understand how to compete with other markets – recalls the Councilor for Agriculture of the Puglia Region -, from India, which is very active in the grape sector table, to South Africa, but above all to set our fruit and vegetable production on the path to healthy food, the healthy and sustainable food that represents our present and our natural future, together with the recovery of the typical varieties of our territories. As already reiterated in recent months, we are a Partner Region of Macfrut 2024 by virtue of Puglia’s leading position in the production of table grapes, a role that we aim to maintain and strengthen, in conjunction with collaboration with producer organisations”.
The activities coordinated by the regional Department of Agriculture, Rural and Environmental Development, in the three days of Macfrut 2024, include 17 technical meetings and workshops in collaboration with research bodies, Apulian universities, consortia and associations active in the area with a focus on table grapes , from the methods of protecting production plants, through varietal and vegetal innovation and new market trends, without forgetting the role that the training sector represents in the table grape supply chain. Furthermore, new details of LUV will be presented at Macfrut, the first table grape supply chain fair, scheduled from 22 to 24 October 2024 in the pavilions of the Nuova Fiera del Levante in Bari.
There will be no shortage of daily appointments with show cooking at Macfrut 2024, in the institutional area of the Puglia Region, to showcase the entire certified fruit and vegetable production of Puglia, together with typical and traditional products, which together will contribute to the creation of menus aimed at respecting dictates of the Mediterranean Diet. The students of the IISS Alberghiero Consoli of Castellana Grotte will actively collaborate with the Apulian chefs present at Macfrut.
