The expansion of limited traffic zones and pedestrian areas, the new face of the squares, the measures to support commerce and more generally to revitalize the historic center.
Citizens, professionals and commercial operators: they are all there, from 3pm to 5pm, in the Ajace room in Udine for the Messaggero Veneto debate themed “What future for the city”. The meeting, broadcast live by Telefriuliwill see the participation of the mayor Alberto Felice De Tonithe deputy mayor with responsibility for Tourism, Commerce, Productive Activities and Major Events Alessandro Venanzi and the councilor for public works, roads and public greenery Ivano Marchiol.
The members of the council will be called to present their Udine project, focusing in particular on the revitalization of commerce and the rethinking of urban spaces in the historic centre, including pedestrian areas and limited traffic areas.
The meeting is moderated by the deputy director of Messaggero Veneto (Nem Group) Paolo Mosanghini and by the director of Telefriuli Alessandra Salvatori. Citizens will have the opportunity to intervene and ask questions to the administrators present.
The issues on the agenda
Among the issues we will focus on there is the expansion of the ZTL, the rethinking of places such as Piazza XX Settembre, Duomo, Venerio, Garibaldi and San Cristoforo, on the need to identify new parking areas for cars, on the state of health of the city’s commerce, on the actions to be carried out within the newly established district, on the new vocation towards which the Friulian capital must aim.
There will be no shortage of ideas and suggestions, just over a month after its introduction, on the strengths and weaknesses of the limited traffic zone and on the rules introduced to allow access to it for residents, suppliers and economic operators. Probably a reference to the improvement of the city’s street furniture and the redevelopment of the station village.
