The former Taranto footballer Luca Brunetti spoke during the “A Tutta C” program a TMW Radio to talk about the Ionian team that played an excellent championship, missing out on second place only due to a four-point penalty in the standings: “Taranto can play against Latina. A memory of your years in Puglia?
“I have wonderful memories of Taranto. I could have done my whole career. I found a connection with the city and the fans and I had a good time. Unfortunately, the first year we were relegated but then we ended up having two years of B. The players from that season were well-liked probably also for their temperament.”
On Capuano’s statements?
“It’s true, this also applies to Juve Stabia who won the championship. It must be said that Taranto did very well with Capuano. He had a great championship, taking away a few races at the start.”
Is it better to start immediately or later in the playoffs?
“When this happens even in the Serie B championship you have to win the championship. When you stop for 20 days anything can happen and you can waste an entire year. A team, not the strongest, can find itself in a moment where it is doing well and manage to win.”
What memories do you have of the match against Salernitana in which Di Bartolomei left football?
“I remember that day very well because they left us almost 1 km from the stadium with the bus and we had to pass through a procession of Salernitana fans. We had already won the championship and they had to win that match. It was a real celebration for both of them. There were important players in the two teams.”
A lot of desire for B in Taranto.
“In Taranto since I left I think they have only had one season in Serie B. They haven’t managed to reach the cadet championship for 30 years. I hope he can do a feat now even if it is difficult.”
On Perugia?
“It was a particular year with many problems and ups and downs. It’s a shame because it’s a square that deserves other stages and unfortunately doesn’t have the strength it should have. He’s struggling and I hope he can get as far as possible.”
About his future?
“I’m still young. This summer I had to go with Pagliuca to do the second one. It happened that 10 days before leaving I got hurt and I was injured for 3 months. In that friendly match where you find yourself among former Lazio players who have made history. I only did it for 10 minutes. In the last 5 minutes I injured my Achilles tendon.”
