TOIn the name of music next weekend in Foggia which will, in fact, be the scene of two events that will bring together thousands of young people in the center of the city.

The Municipality has issued security measures: “It starts on Saturday 4 May – reports the press release from Palazzo Città -. Radio Norba’s ‘Road to Battiti’ is on the programme, which includes the arrival in the city of Geolier, the very popular Neapolitan rapper who will give a short performance. The radio-television event will take place in Piazza Cavour (for the entertainment part) and in Piazza Italia (for the setting up of stands and the positioning of the mobile control room for interviews and broadcasts). Road traffic on Saturday afternoon will undergo some changes with the affected areas being completely closed to vehicular traffic starting from 2.00 pm.

Thousands of young people are expected in the square and for this reason, to guarantee the safety of the participants, the Municipality of Foggia has put in place specific safety measures. In particular from 8.00 pm to midnight in the areas affected by the event, as well as in the neighboring areas within five hundred meters beyond the perimeter of the same, it is forbidden to:

  1. introduce and consume alcohol, even if already in your possession, in the area affected by the event;
  1. introduce and consume drinks in containers, bottles, glass glasses and cans, even those already in your possession, in the area affected by the event;
  2. introduce and use firecrackers and pepper spray in the area affected by the event;

Only plastic drink bottles without caps may be brought into the event areas.”

And again: “It has been placed in these areas the ban on the sale and administration of all alcoholic beverages in any capacity; of non-alcoholic drinks in glass bottles and cans, with the obligation only to sell them in paper or plastic cups and in plastic bottles without caps. Shopkeepers who sell drinks in plastic containers are obliged to remove the caps beforehand.

All merchants must clearly display the ordinance which provides for these prohibitions which do not apply in the event that consumption takes place in public establishments or in the external areas pertaining to them and on condition that the merchant, at the end of consumption, takes action to dispose of glass bottles and cans, while the absolute ban on takeaway sales remains.

The ban on the consumption of alcohol, the introduction of glass and cans and firecrackers and pepper sprays in the areas affected by the event will also apply to the ‘Nerd Festival’. The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday in Piazza Giordano, Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Lanza and will end on Sunday 5 May with the concert by Cristina d’Avena, scheduled for 9.00 pm in Piazza Giordano“.
