In view of Sunday afternoon’s match in Modena, which could be worth Como’s promotion to Serie A, the Municipality of the Como city has arranged not only the installation of giant screens inside the Sinigaglia stadium, but also a traffic plan around the system to guarantee safety and order in the event of celebrations. Below is the note published on the website of the Municipality of Como:

“The ordinance for the “Temporary regulation of traffic along some city streets and squares on the occasion of the Modena – Como football match and broadcast live via a giant screen at the municipal stadium” has been published in the notice board of the Municipality of Como ” G. Sinigaglia” Sunday 5 May 2024″.

On the occasion of the Modena – Como football match, which will be played in Modena at the “Alberto Braglia” municipal stadium on Sunday 5 May at 3.00 pm, the Como 1907 football club will place giant screens inside the “Giuseppe Sinigaglia” stadium for the broadcast live of the match, so as to allow a collective vision of the Como supporters.

In order to regulate traffic on this occasion, the ordinance provides for the following road provisions, related to the possible promotion of the team to the top football category and the possible consequent celebrations that would result in the squares and along the city streets.

Stadium area
The obligations and prohibitions listed below come into force from 10.00 am on 5 May 2024 and cease to be effective when the roads covered by the provision are made passable in safe conditions (removal of installed barriers and barriers).
1. The ban on circulation and parking with forced removal for all categories of vehicles, including those serving disabled people equipped with a specific permit, along via Sinigaglia and viale Puecher, Largo Borgonovo, viale Masia, stretch between p. le Somaini and v.le Rosselli, p.le Somaini;
2. The ban on circulation and parking with forced removal for all categories of vehicles, including those serving disabled people equipped with a specific sign along Viale Vittorio Veneto, with the exception of the authorized vehicles indicated below:

– Steward – staff on duty at the stadium.
The vehicles mentioned above are authorized to transit against traffic in via Vittorio Veneto in the stretch from via Puecher to Largo Borgonovo;
3. Two-way traffic with transit permitted exclusively to residents and authorized persons along viale Masia, in the stretch between viale Rosselli and via Sinigaglia; in this case the vehicles that enter Viale Masia from Viale Rosselli will have the obligation to give priority to vehicles passing there and the obligation to turn right towards Piazzale Santa Teresa;
4. The ban on transit and parking with forced removal for all categories of vehicles, including those serving disabled people equipped with a specific badge, along the streets Campo Garibaldi, Adolfo Vacchi and Martinelli with the exception of vehicles used by residents and authorized with private vehicle storage;
5. Ban on pedestrian transit between the Giardini a Lago area and Viale Vittorio Veneto, Largo Borgonovo;
6. Parking ban with forced removal for all categories of vehicles, including those serving disabled people equipped with a specific permit along via Recchi (Carrefour area up to via Sant’Elia) and viale Rosselli (resident spaces including the via Vacchi area ) and piazzale San Rocchetto (parking stalls in the stretch between via Sant’Elia and via Petrololo);
7. In the presence of particular situations relating to public order and safety, further road measures may be imposed such as reversal of the direction of travel, suspension of traffic, etc., and the suspension of the circulation of all categories of vehicles along the roads may be ordered. streets and squares affected by the transit of vehicles and team supporters.
As an exception to the above, after assessing the safety conditions, access to the stadium entrance will be permitted for vehicles accompanying disabled people, for the time strictly necessary for such passengers to alight.

Area Along the Lake
The obligations and prohibitions listed below come into force at the end of the match, approximately from 5.00 pm on 5 May 2024.
1. The ban on circulation for all categories of vehicles, including those serving disabled people equipped with a specific permit, in Lungo Lario Trieste and Trento, in the direction of piazza Matteotti intersection viale Rosselli/Recchi and vice versa.
As a result of the aforementioned ban, vehicles coming from via Torno / Sant’Agostino and via Foscolo will be directed towards Largo Leopardi. The same, in derogation of the existing prohibitions, will also be able to use the lanes reserved for LPT transit, along the via Sauro, viale Battisti and via Milano axis; for vehicles headed towards the Municipality of Torno, the route via Rezzonico, via Brambilla and via Torno is recommended;
2. In the presence of particular situations relating to public order and safety, further road measures may be imposed such as reversal of the direction of travel, suspension of traffic, etc., such as, but not limited to, the closure of Piazza Matteotti to transit with deviation of traffic coming from Torno to Piazza Amendola.

The TPL lines that normally pass along the prohibited routes will follow alternative itineraries, made known to the public through notices at the stops.

Please remember that the ban on the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public areas is in force with the exception of those consumed in outdoor areas and those administered in glasses directly in public establishments”.
