Trapani, boat drop to the Colombaia | News Trapani and updated news

It happened this afternoon after going to the rocks.

Two navigators in their 50s, probably of Spanish nationality, crashed onto the rocks this afternoon in Trapani. Their twin-masted aircraft of about 20 meters crashed into the Colombaia and then sank within a couple of hours. The two sailors were brought to safety by the rescue workers who intervened on site from the Drepanum Naval Shipyard, once the request arrived at 2.30 pm together with the Port Authority, which arrived at the wreck of the vessel, flying the Tunisian flag, promptly alerted by the Shipyard. It would seem that the boat’s engine failed at the entrance to the port and was then carried onto the rocks due to the undertow and the strong wind that is being recorded in these hours in the stretch of sea in front of Torre di Ligny, the extreme tip of Sicily and crossroads of the Mediterranean. The impossibility of rescue from the sea pushed the Drepanum to intervene from land. Once reached, the two sailors were rescued and taken to the Captaincy for the ritual formalities.
