The initiatives promoted by the Municipality together with the Anpi and the Cidra continued this morning, to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation. In via Sminatori, in the Pedagna district, the ceremony of laying a wreath on the statue-monument dedicated to the deminers took place. Speakers included the deputy mayor Fabrizio Castellari and Fulvio Andalò, representing Anpi Imola. Castellari, in his greeting, recalled that with this initiative the memory of those who reclaimed the territories, in the aftermath of the war, to the point of losing their lives for this was honored. The heroic activity of these fellow citizens is to be remembered among the pages of history to be revived and passed down to new generations, among the episodes linked to the Resistance and Liberation

Yesterday morning, however, the ceremony took place to lay a wreath on the memorial stone, located at the crossroads between via Cogne and via Serraglio, in memory of the Cogne workers who fell due to anti-fascism and the Resistance, who died in war, civil and industrial victims. The memorial stone was placed here, in the area that in the past was the site of the historic factory, on 25 July 2021. The ceremony was attended by the deputy mayor Fabrizio Castellari, Valter Attiliani, member of the Steering Committee of the Anpi of Imola and representatives trade unions of CGIL and FIOM. For Castellari it was also an opportunity to reflect on the current situation, with too many deaths at work, precarious or underpaid work. A situation that imposes the need to rethink the world of work, to guarantee conditions of maximum safety and certain employment prospects especially for young people, in the name of the Constitution.
