PESARO – Anesthetists leaving the Pesaro healthcare system, Ast’s reassurances. There has been no shortage of concern and political controversy over possible uncovered shifts.
«No stop to surgical activity. In fact, next May 16th there will be selection for new anesthetists which will replace the outgoing ones and which will guarantee the activity of the operating blocks and beyond”. This was stated by the new director of the Pesaro Urbino territorial health authority Alberto Carelli.
«The priority in the first days of my inauguration – he adds – was precisely to verify and give boost to hiring, especially for departments where there are strong shortages. The personnel office is in fact working on several fronts and for the tender relating to anesthetists there are thirty-eight candidates who will cover the various roles required. But not only. They have been hired to date 30 nurses for the different operating units, with the tender closed last February and others will arrive to cover the turnover of retirements scheduled until autumn. There are numerous recruitment procedures underway. In particular, the one for will take place on May 7th cover 6 posts in the discipline of Emergency Medicine for the Ast emergency rooms, with 22 candidates. The competition for 4 places will be held on May 10th Medical Director in the discipline of Psychiatry, with 13 candidates.”
Carelli continues: «Forty candidates presented themselves for Internal Medicine with the selection taking place on the 21st. The thoracic surgical activity will then be strengthened with the notice expiring on May 22nd and for which 9 surgeons have submitted their candidature. We are then waiting for two other fundamental competitions in June: the one for the Radiodiagnostics discipline which sees 68 candidates who will fill various positions in the Diagnostic Imaging departments throughout the Ast, while on the 18th the competition for pediatricians for which 12 candidates applied. Finally the insolvency procedures are starting to be very popular and in the next few months we will be able to fill the various shortcomings that have accumulated over the course of these months”.
