This morning, May 3, 2024, the five-year-old children of the Via Mura nursery school (IC Velletri- Centro) went to the fire station in the municipality of Velletri. The firefighters welcomed us into their barracks with enthusiasm and professionalism. The children were immediately intrigued and admired and listened to all the explanations about their work and the various interventions they carry out in the area. They then had fun with the hydrant shooting water, seeing the foam used for fires and on the car with the siren blaring. In the control room the children were captured by the radio communications that firefighters receive in case of emergency calls. The children had the opportunity to learn about a very important reality in Velletri such as the fire station, a great resource in the area. They had the opportunity to learn about an ancient and important profession like the firefighter. They had the opportunity to delve deeper into some aspects of the 4 elements, an educational project that we are carrying out in our school this year. Special thanks go to all the firefighters who had to reorganize this morning’s activities given the bad weather.
