Anti-seismic exercise for the children of Pordenone.
The bell it rings three times and the children come out in an orderly single file to pour into the meeting points outside: it is not a normal recreation, but one evacuation test as part of the anti-seismic exercise they have today 4 thousand school pupils participated of Pordenone, in an initiative created by the Civil Protection.
“There prevention – said regional councilor Riccardo Riccardi who witnessed the emergency test – it’s a cornerstone of the Civil Protection; implement it with school students
allows you to deliver to them the first basic notionsuseful for their present and their future”.
To supervise the operations implemented the last time in Pordenone in 2018the Civil Protection volunteers who have were also present coordinated the simulation. At the end of the day, each class was given a certificate of participation in the exercise.
As the representative of the regional council recalled, today’s game seems to have been a game for the kids but it contains a important message related to prevention. The latter, in fact, is nothing other than the way in which learn the correct behaviors to implement in times of need, which has even more value if the recipients of the message are young people. Know how to act in an emergency it is in fact part of a growth path, implemented in this case thanks to the synergy between the public administration and the regional school system.
The Region then highlighted how the Friuli Venezia Giulia has become a model over time not only of reconstruction but also of emergency management, thanks to the teachings that in 1976, at the time of the earthquake, the then commissioner for reconstruction Giuseppe Zamberletti brought to these areas of Italy and which then taught at a national and international level. Between these the birth of Civil Protection, the emergency management system and the great prevention work, elements that continue to distinguish the activity carried out in our region.
