For a long time now. President Aurelio De Laurentiis is working to make a new stadium and sports center available to Napoli. Over the last few months, the position of the blue patron has been called several times.

In fact, we went from wanting to buy the Diego Armando Maradona from the Municipality of Naples to wanting to build everything in the Bagnoli area. There is a continuous push and pull on this hypothesis, and in recent hours the response from the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, on the topic has arrived.

The Naples continues to be busy on various fronts regarding the pitch and off the pitch, with president De Laurentiis continuing his work incessantly. Over the course of these months, the Napoli president has accelerated discussions regarding the new stadium and sports center of the Neapolitan club. After having insisted so much on having Maradona, De Laurentiis’ plans have changed, with the Bagnoli area where work is underway to bring everything into being.

However, the area is under the control of the Government, due to the various reclamation and other works that must be carried out in the area. In recent days, a meeting was held in Rome in which De Laurentiis, mayor Manfredi, minister Fitto and the CEO of Invitalia, Bernardo Mattarella, were present. Today, Gaetano Manfredi spoke on the sidelines of a conference with Turkish Airlines at Palazzo San Giacomo, where he spoke about the Bagnoli theme to the microphones of Spazionapoli.it:

“I can’t say anything to anyone, because these are decisions we make collectively as a control room. It is clear that this acceleration on the reclamation for a now clear destination of the area for what the projects are, opens us up to decisions on the future of the Bagnoli area. The sporting vocation is certainly important, it must be a sport that can be enjoyed by citizens. In addition to this, we are evaluating a series of initiatives with National Federations. The Napoli option will also be evaluated. It is a job that we do together with a logic of programming and an overall and integrated vision of the Bagnoli area”.

Mayor Gaetano Manfredi did not expound too much on the Naples option in particular, but De Laurentiis’ idea will be evaluated together with the entire Control Room. We therefore just have to wait for further updates on the matter, which in recent times has undergone a clear acceleration compared to previous months.
