The Arno Boat returns to Florence: river trips from 19 to 25 euros

From May 1st to September 30th the boat adventure on the Arno returns. With the beautiful season – even if it isn’t beautiful yet, but fingers crossed – here we are again in FlorenceArno Boat, a novelty in recent years that has attracted several visitors from all over the world. It’s about a mini-cruise on the Arno to admire the beauties of Florence, a bit like what happens with certain boats in Paris along the Seine. Last year the novelty was welcomed with enthusiasm and overcame all the initial surprises, now it is repeated with the arrival of summer.

The journey takes one fifty minutes and allows travel at a maximum of sixty people at a time. The boat will make one trip every hour for a total of eight per day: from 10.30 am to 11.30 am, then continuing from 3.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Tickets have a price of nineteen euros for those residing in the municipality of Florence while for non-residents it is twenty-five euros. However, there are concessions and discounts for both boys and girls and for people over sixty-five. But it doesn’t end there because the possibility of doing is repeated appetizers on board or to attend concerts of music live.

Everything will be without environmental or acoustic impact given that the boat is one hundred percent electric. The path it is standard and follows all the beauties of the city, starting from Lungarno Diaz. We start near Piazza Mentana, we will sail near the Uffizi, we will pass under Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita, to end at Ponte della Carraia and do the reverse route up to Ponte alle Grazie. Palazzo Vecchio, San Frediano, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio are just some of the symbolic monuments of Florence that can be seen entirely or glimpsed in the distance while in the water.

The idea is to Daniela Ghirelliwho years ago was fascinated by the Parisian bateau mouches: “I dreamed of creating them in Florence, in my city. The project became reality and, over the years, it grew and managed to involve many associations allowing many Florentines and tourists to experience the beauty of our river. This year we will do activities with the associations Trisomy 21 and I Sipario boys. Some schools from Florence and other cities will also come on board, to make Florence and its secrets known even to the youngest.”
