According to analyzes by the Cna Marche Study Center, based on data from Excelsior Unioncamere, the most requested professions in the next five years will reflect this evolution.

The Marche are about to embark on a journey towards a new era of sustainability, where the renewable energies and the eco-sustainable practices they will be the cornerstones of regional economic development. This change not only represents a response to current environmental challenges, but also offers a unique opportunity for economic growth and jobs.

With growing environmental awareness and the need to reduce our impact on the planet, the demand for experienced professionals in the renewable energy and sustainability sector is set to grow significantly. The demand for professionals specialized in these sectors is destined to grow exponentially, as companies look for figures capable of leading this revolution. Investing in specific education and training in these areas will become fundamental to guarantee the competitiveness of companies and the employability of workers.

However, the change affects not only the environment, but also the demographic composition of the region. According to Istat data, in the next five years, there will be an 8% increase in the over 60s and a 4% decrease in the Marche people of working age between 18 and 59. This phenomenon, known as the third demographic transition, presents unique challenges, but also opportunities for the creation of new markets and jobs, especially in the cultural, tourism, real estate and insurance services sectors.

The future of work in the Marche

The working landscape of the Marche region is preparing for a period of significant transformations over the next five years. The key to addressing this evolution is close collaboration between institutions, schools and businesses in order to prepare the skills needed for the rapidly evolving job market. Active labor policies and welfare measures are of crucial importance in overcoming the shortage of qualified workers and in promoting employability, especially among female and youth groups.

The overall employment needs of the Marche region are estimated at 84,500 units over the next five years. The demand for highly specialized managers and professionals, technicians and qualified employees in trade and services will be particularly high. High-growth sectors such as healthcare, information technology and green construction will offer ample job opportunities.

Between 2024 and 2028, the Marche region will need 84,500 thousand units of which 78,000 workers will replace those leaving and 6,500 new entries will join the regional workforce. The demand will be diversified, with 15,900 highly specialized managers and professionals, 14,900 technicians, 10,000 office workers, 16,400 qualified workers in trade and services, 13,900 specialized workers and 5,600 plant operators.

Excluding the agricultural sector, employment needs will involve 83,200 people, with 28,800 with tertiary education, 23,300 with a technical-professional upper secondary school diploma, 3,600 with a high school diploma, 18,200 with a professional training qualification or diploma and 9,300 with a middle school diploma.
