The Cammino del PiemonteSud lands at the Turin Book Fair. On Saturday 11 May at 6.30 pm in the Orange Room, the Protected Areas of the Piedmontese Apennines of Bosio will present the 240 kilometer long hiking route that connects the protected areas from the Acquese to the Borbera Valley, involving 30 Alessandria municipalities, which can be covered on foot in 19 stages or by e-bike in 5 days. The Cammino del PiemonteSud, they explain from Bosio, “can represent the first stretch of the Green Path of the Piedmontese Parks and constitute a local variant of the Path of the National Parks proposed by the Ministry of the Environment and the CAI”. In Turin the speakers will be Daniela Roveda (park ranger) and Lorenzo Vay (press officer) of the Protected Areas of the Piedmontese Apennines. Emanuela Celona, ​​director of the Piemonte Parchi magazine, will moderate. To promote the Cammino PiemonteSud, the Protected Areas propose three free nature-themed initiatives involving the Parks and Natura 2000 Sites of the area. We start tomorrow, May 4th with the walk entitled “The flora of the Stratte della Val Borbera”, within the special conservation area “Strette della Val Borbera”. Accompanying the participants are Mario Calbi (nature expert) and Giacomo Gola (park ranger). Meeting at 9.30 in the equipped area of ​​Boscopiano in Borghetto Borbera. The excursion will start at 10am and end at 5pm. Packed lunch. The second event will be on May 25th: with “The flora of the Antola massif”, as part of the European Parks Days, we will learn about the plants of the special protection area “Antola massif, Mount Carmo, Mount Legnà”. Meeting at 9.30 in Capanne di Cosola (Cabella Ligure), departure at 10 and return at 5. The companions will be Marco Castelli (flora expert) and Giacomo Gola. Finally, on June 1st, appointment at 9pm Mel Circolo ARCI La Baracca in Sottovalle di Arquata Scrivia with the information evening entitled “The witches’ meadows – the Stregona serrata (Saga Pedo) in the Piedmont Apennines”, organized in collaboration with the University of Pavia, the World Biodiversity Association, the Piedmontese Naturalistic Association and the Orthoctoid Insect Research Group. The speaker will be Emanuele Repetto, who will present his three-year degree thesis in Biological Sciences of the University of Pavia entitled “Monitoring of a population of Saga pedo in the Piedmontese Apennines”.
