A day of sport that took place on Wednesday 1st May at the municipal hippodrome of Ferrara, with the memory of Gian Luigi Fregnani. The event was organized by ASD Doro, with the collaboration of Anffas Ferrara, Uisp Ferrara, Avis Ferrara and the participation of the Contrada di San Luca, sponsored by the Municipality of Ferrara and the Emilia-Romagna Region. The start and finish was at the municipal racecourse. An event that attracted over sixteen hundred runners. The first to set off were the youth categories, around one hundred young athletes at the start, who covered the various distances within the racecourse. The morning competitions also saw performances by flag-wavers and musicians from the Borgo di San Luca district. Following the start of the competitive race over the distance of 12.5 km as well as the 7 km recreational walk, Nordic Walking walkers and also many with their four-legged friends. Preceded by a minute’s silence to remember Gian Luigi Fregnani, responsible for the Uisp athletics sector for over 40 years, who passed away last Tuesday. The race report saw Luis Matteo Ricciardi immediately in command, who managed to keep Mohamed Majem at a distance, while among the women Rosa Alfieri remained in the lead from the start until the end. At the end the awards for the absolute and largest groups. Among the men, Luis Matteo Ricciardi (Sacmi Imola) was first with a final time of 40.40, ahead of Mohamed Majem 42.18 and Federico Valandro (Quadrilatero) 43.32. Among the women, victory went to Rosa Alfieri (ASD Circolo Minerva) in 51.08, preceding the winner of the previous edition Nadiya Chubak (GPA Lughesina) 51.46 and Erica Fuschini.
