Scheduled maintenance work continues on the ‘Seminiello’ viaduct, located along the state road 658 “Potenza-Melfi”in the province of Potenza.
The activities – already started last year, for a total investment of approximately 5 million euros – affected the areas beneath the viaduct, without causing particular inconvenience to traffic.
The intervention consists of rehabilitation of structuresIn the consolidation of the foundations and reconstruction of the embankments behind the viaduct following a landslide movement as well as in the restoration of landslide areas along a road section which became part of Anas’ competence in November 2018 (previously former SP148 ‘Melfi-Ofanto’).
For the advancement of activities starting from next May 2nd and until September 4th, the stretch between km 50,500 will be closed to traffic (from joining the SS658/dir) to km 58.900 (joining the SS655 “Bradanica”); traffic will be diverted onto neighboring state roads.
In agreement with the Municipality of Melfi (PZ), the roads affecting the hamlet of Leonessa (PZ) will remain guaranteed, in addition to other state roads, also with municipal roads recently restored by the Municipality.
While, the activities relating to the restoration of the hydraulic regimentation and partial cortical rehabilitation of the neighboring ‘Seminiello’ and ‘Cardinale’ tunnels, in the municipal area of Melfi (PZ) have already been completedfor a total investment of approximately 2 million euros, the executive designs for the structural restoration of the same tunnels are being finalized for a further total investment of approximately six million euros, the activities of which could start by 2024.
