Ghost of Tsushima has positive reviews on Steam, but the reviews continue the anti-PSN controversy

After Sony’s step backwards with Helldivers 2, regarding the mandatory use of PSN accounts, which had resulted in hundreds of thousands of negative reviews for the game on Steam, the controversy she seemed to have returned. In reality it is not entirely, because she has partly moved up Ghost of Tsushimaa PlayStation title just launched on Valve’s platform.

It must be said that the general reception is very positive, with 85% of the almost 5,000 reviews published at the time of writing this news being favorable to the Sucker Punch game, apparently a great conversion from the Nixxes specialists.

Having said this, what is particularly interesting are the negative reviews, which mostly focus on the same point: thePSN accounts.

Ghost of Tsushima requires you to register an account on PlayStation Network for multiplayer. Sony made this known after the Helldivers 2 case, withdrawing the game from almost 200 countries, where it is impossible to have one. Given the wait to be able to play it, many did not take it well at all and the frustration at the exclusion from the possibility of purchasing in some territories added to that for the obligation of the extra account, which then manifested itself in the reviews , as has been the case on Steam for years (in different games, for different reasons, of course).

Ghost of Tsushima is not playable in some territories

For example, the user “I’m Your Father” wrote: “The positive review is not available in your region,” clearly alluding to the above, while the user ジン wrote: “I purchased this game on Steam for play it on Steam. I don’t want to connect or create a PSN account. Absurd behavior on Sony’s part.” Then he published the list of all the territories where you cannot register a PSN account.

Other comments have the same tenor, like the one from KronG who talks about a great game from a terrible publisher.

Be that as it may, it is fair to point out that some negative reviews also talk about other problems, such as various bugs and crashes (it’s a minority). However, there is no doubt that hundreds have decided to divert the controversy for PSN accounts to Ghost of Tsushima. Who knows if it will also happen with future PlayStation titles and if the company will take a further step back.
