«Whoever returns from a trip is never the same person who left». Thus, she recites a Chinese proverb that invites us to leave. The goal? It’s not necessarily far away, sometimes a trip out of town is enough. But why not dream big? In fact, there is no shortage of proposals.
THE WORLD IN A SUITCASE
The month of July begins by staying in the North. From 7 to 10 July, Il Mondo in Valigia leads in “The Dolomites of Un Passo dal cielo”, to the discovery of the most beautiful mountains, “the great cathedrals of the earth”: here are the peaks of Lavaredo and Lake Misurina, the lake of Braies, the Dolomite passes rich in legends and silent witnesses of a long history, sometimes terrible, sometimes enchanted. You also go up to the Alpe di Siusi to admire the splendid panorama of the Scilliar, comfortably seated in a carriage.
Another proposal. An extraordinary place for sea lovers. Lampedusa and Linosa: you can discover the town, but also the parts of the island accessible only by boat, the various coves and the splendid Spiaggia dei Conigli. You stay in a 4 star hotel, located 200 meters from the famous Cala Guitgia beach. This is the proposal signed, again by Il Mondo in Valigia, from 7 to 14 September.
Il Mondo in Valigia then thought of an itinerary – from 11 to 22 September – between Molise and Puglia, a journey to the “Spur of Italy”. It includes five days of tours in Molise, based in Campobasso, and a week in Gargano, based in Vieste. A proposal that combines nature, history, traditions, coastal and ancient villages and the sea, so as to combine the pleasure of a tour with that of a seaside stay. It is an increasingly popular formula that allows you to discover new places, without packing and unpacking your luggage every day, avoiding constantly changing structures. Those who wish can request to join only one part of the trip (11/16 September Molise; 15/22 Gargano).
Let’s look at another proposal in Italy. For those who love the sea, from 18 to 24 September, there is a tour of the Aeolian Islands, departing by plane from Turin: seafront hotel, a few minutes from the center and every day, a different island with views, tastes, tastings, visits.
We close with two ideas abroad, two trips to remember! From 8 to 15 October, there is the tour to Uzbekistan, included among the top destinations for 2024 by the most renowned travel guides. It is an itinerary designed exclusively for a small group, a journey to the places where the greatest leaders Alexander the Great and Tamerlane moved their armies. You will find yourself immersed among the famous blue mosaics and ocher architecture in Samarkand, where the Silk Road has left a legendary imprint.
From 5 to 11 November, however, there is the trip to New York, designed for those who have always dreamed of discovering, or returning to, this metropolis. A tour to be done with “your nose in the air” divided into neighborhoods, so as to allow you to dedicate the time it deserves to each story: after an initial overview of Manhattan and the inevitable navigation towards the Statue of Liberty, you get to know Brooklyn with its brownstone houses and, then, catapulted back in time. From the modern Hudson Yards you can see how in recent years urban development has led to a redevelopment of old factories and city corners such as the modern High Line.
