Bergamo celebrates 14 new Masters of Work. The Giuseppe Verdi conservatory in Milan hosted the Stars of Merit award ceremony on May 1st. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the proposal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, granted the decoration with the diploma, delivered by the prefect of Bergamo, Giuseppe Forlenza, flanked by many civil, military and ecclesiastical authorities.
In recent days, the Forlenza prefect had received the new Masters of Labor at the Prefecture, underlining how the Star of Merit represents «the symbol of the founding values of the life of your community. With your work – he said –, with the dedication and qualities expressed in the various activities, you have contributed to the economic life of this area and represented an extraordinary model, including an ethical one, for young people.”
The names
They were awarded Mauro Adobati of Osio Sotto, reported by Nord Est Trasporti di Milano; Gianluigi Benedetti of the Nts Spa company of Lallio; Alessia Camozzi of Caravaggio for his career in e-distribution; Andrea Candian of Bonate Sopra, reported by Neodecortech Spa of Filago; Rosa Deponti of Caravaggio, after a career in the Italian Post Office; Luca Fantin from Bergamo, human resources manager of the Markas Srl company in Bolzano; Biagio Fortini from Bergamo, reported for work at Dama Petroli Spa/Dama Srl and Dama Chemical Srl; Erminio Iseni of Trescore Balneario, reported by the Gewiss Spa company; Ezio Martinelli of Seriate for the activity carried out in Confartigianato; Alessandro Piazzoli from Torre Boldone, retired after work experience at Lovato Electric Spa; Maurizio Previtali from Brembate with a long career in the Candy group; Carlo Roncalli from Seriate, with a career from Metallurgica di Montello to Feralpi Siderurgica Spa; Stefano Redolfi of Calcinate, reported by the company Foppa Pedretti Spa e Piermauro Signorelli of Chiuduno for the Enel company.

«Bergamo welcomes once again and with immense pleasure the newly elected Masters of Work who have particularly distinguished themselves for their merits, ability, industriousness, expertise and good moral conduct – comments the provincial consul Alberto Caldara –. Everyone, even if in different fields and roles, worked hard to ensure that the companies in which they worked for many years achieved notable results. I am convinced that in our area there are many more people deserving of this honor and it will be my responsibility to intervene directly with the companies so that they can bring out those who are worth a lot, pursuing success and that excellence that everyone recognizes in the world of work.” In the meantime, twelve other men and two women have received the important recognition “but it is our hope that in the near future we will be able to consider women’s quotas more carefully, which still struggle to be considered with the right importance and attention”.
Industry and services
Two of the new Masters reside in Bergamo, the remaining dozen come from all over the province, while four of the recipients are currently retired. The 14 workers belong to the industrial and service sectors, ranging in different categories and tasks: from worker to employee, to manager, to manager. «A few days ago I was honored to receive the new Masters at our consulate for a meeting, during which I gave them the most relevant news on our activities, including the cultural and corporate visits planned in the near future – concludes Caldara -. In particular, I recalled, for those who are retired, the great opportunity to join our school group, which has met so far, during this school year, approximately 11,900 students in all secondary schools in the province, trying to convey on them the precious experience and skills that have been acquired over many years of work”.
