TIVOLI – Elections, Massimiliano Rossini is the fifth candidate for mayor

TIVOLI – Elections, Massimiliano Rossini is the fifth candidate for mayor
TIVOLI – Elections, Massimiliano Rossini is the fifth candidate for mayor

From Massimiliano Rossini we receive and publish:

“Dear citizens of Tivoli,
My name is Rossini Massimiliano,
I am a maintenance worker at RFI. On this important day dedicated to work, May 1st, I want to share with you my acceptance of the candidacy for Mayor of Tivoli.

I will be the spokesperson for the “TIVOLI POPULAR AND INCLUSIVE” list. A multicultural list made by the people for the people.
It is therefore with great regret that I write to you to inform you of our decision to stand as a candidate in the next elections.

We understand that many of you feel discouraged and disillusioned with politics, to the point that you stop participating in elections. You understand well that the current situation, characterized by a political system indifferent to the real needs of citizens and dominated by personal interest rather than public service, has pushed us to act.

We firmly believe that it is necessary to reconcile local politics with citizens, restoring coherence and integrity in serving the community. We cannot allow our political system to become a means to pursue personal careers at the expense of the collective good.

We want to re-establish an open and honest dialogue between citizens and political representatives, because we believe that only through active and conscious participation can we transform our community into a better place for everyone.

We feel the urgency of proposing our candidacy not to aspire to roles of power or positions, but because we believe that the current politics in Tivoli no longer represents the real interests of the citizens.

Our list is made up of ordinary people: workers, students, pensioners, healthcare workers and people like you, the voters. You have too often suffered the consequences of anti-social political decisions and we believe the time has come for a change. We want to put work at the center of Tivoli,
My commitment in the Tiburtina area has always been in support of workers affected by precariousness and low wages.

Institutional intervention is crucial to defend the rights of Tiburtina workers. I promoted initiatives such as collecting signatures for a minimum wage of 10 euros per hour and a law on workplace homicide.

We have recently witnessed contractual violations in our territory and reductions in the rights of Tiburtina workers in various sectors: such as the paper mill workers who were suspended without pay, going to the limit of dismissal, but also the procurement workers within the former Pirelli factory Yokohama which after an agreement signed for a salary increase, then there was no increase in the pay slip.

Like the healthcare workers at the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital who not only experienced the tragic fire first-hand, but in recent years have been hit by shameful job insecurity where there was an attempt to increase healthcare services and benefits with a lack of personnel and healthcare equipment, what fate will our hospital have if the working conditions of the operators are not improved with hiring and new equipment?

Today Labor Day We cannot forget the workers who died in the workplace in our territory such as Elpidio Pastore, a 39 year old worker who fell from a scaffold inside the paper mills and Maurizio Tani, a 63 year old worker from Villa Adriana who died inside the Yokohama factory, victim of maximum discount on procurement.

I am running for Mayor of Tivoli to continue together with you in the fight against unrelated deaths in the workplace, but also to counteract a mentality of maximum reduction in procurement.

Once in office I will work to introduce stricter rules against those who violate workers’ rights and against those who practice illegal work. It is essential to ensure a decent minimum wage for all workers working in our municipality.
I invite you to support this path towards a more equitable and just Tivoli for all.
Thanks for the attention”.
