GROSSETO – «The cycle path from Grosseto to Marina, closed for several months now, is in a state of abandonment» was reported by one of our readers who explains: «The project involves installing solar panel lighting etc. the tracks in the ground, after passing the pipes, closing them with inert material and then the track was left like that, they therefore have to redo the asphalt surface, finish re-burying the wells and then put up the streetlights”.

«The point is that all this has been at a standstill for months now, and all the work vehicles have now disappeared. Since the good weather is coming, it’s a shame not to be able to take advantage of it.”

The Municipality confirms the work in progress to resurface. «Work that will be finished in about a month». The road should be returned in early June, while the lighting will be completed after the summer.

«In fact – states the councilor of the Municipality of Grosseto Riccardo Ginanneschi – Sorgenia had to do some work to connect the Shriekers to the primary cabin of the racecourse. In exchange we asked that, in compensation, they illuminate the cycle path. Meanwhile, the arrangements for the lighting have been made. In June the asphalt road will be returned and renewed, and after the summer the lighting will be completed with spotlights that will turn on as they pass and which from Grosseto will reach the Marina di Grosseto roundabout. It can thus also be used in the evening hours – concludes Ginanneschi – all with a view to sustainability given that the lighting will not remain on always but, precisely, only when necessary”.
