Province of Asti, Patriarchs Project: new centenary at Monastero Bormida.

Morino Giacinto was born in Bormida Monastery on April 23, 1924.

The first of three brothers from a peasant family, he moved to Tigliole where his father, wounded in the Great War, was assigned to the post office.

He attended the Nautical Institute in Savona and the Faculty of Economics in Genoa and at the end of the 40s he embarked as an officer on merchant ships.

After his marriage to Liliana he worked for various shipping companies as director of a container transport company.

He spent many years between the city of Genoa and the beloved Dolomites before moving definitively to Monastero Bormida, where he was celebrated in his home surrounded by the affection of his daughters Patrizia and Rossana and his grandchildren. He is lucid and active, reads without glasses and participates in the country’s events.

To celebrate the new centenary, in addition to the family, the Provincial Councilor Luigi Gallareto, also mayor of the Municipality of Monastero Bormida, was present, who on behalf of the President Maurizio Rasero presented him with the certificate of “Patriarch of Astigiano” together with some publications of the ‘Body. Also present was the vice mayor of the Municipality of Monastero Bormida Remo Ferraris.
