focus on safety and maintenance

Meeting at the MIT on the SS 100 Bari-Taranto. Present were the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Matteo Salvini, the senator Andrea Paganella, for Anas the CEO Aldo Isi and the Anas Puglia Manager Vincenzo Marzi, the president of the State Safe Roads Committee 100 Bari-Taranto Vanni Caragnano. The meeting was requested by the Committee following the demonstration that took place in Mottola in recent days.

The situation was taken stock with the aim of increasing safety (as required by the area, in light of the numerous serious accidents) and increasing and speeding up maintenance interventions.
Minister Salvini had guaranteed the table a few days ago, and this came to fruition quickly.

In the coming weeks there will be an acceleration of the first scheduled maintenance interventions underway, to avoid excessive speeds and risky overtaking.

Added to this is a significant turning point: on the Gioia del Colle-San Basilio section the authorization process at the Ministry of the Environment, requested by Salvini, took a step forward thanks to the publication by MASE on 22 April of the additions requests to Anas.
The authorization process will be concluded within a few months, and financial coverage will be found in the 2025 update of the Mit-Anas program contract of approximately 120 million. This way the work can actually start.
During the meeting, the San Basilio-Palagiano section currently being designed was also discussed, for which Anas has collected the proposals put forward by the Committee.

MIT makes it known.
