In Catania the unlucky thief’s night out – lasiciliaweb

CATANIA – Following the report of a theft in a well-known company in the industrial area of Catania, the police showed up on the scene, where the vigilantes reported that a young man had recently left by running away and hiding in the tall grass of the countryside. Through the video surveillance cameras, the officers ascertained that a person with an uncovered face, an unkempt beard, wearing overalls and a sleeveless jacket, had attempted a theft by entering the company and ransacking the office room containing the safe, but without being able to take anything away.

The police started looking for the young man but shortly after they were contacted by the owner of a nearby bar who reported that he had just suffered an attempted theft. Again through video surveillance cameras it was established that the boy was the same. After forcing a sliding window, he was surprised by the acoustic alarm system and then fled without having had time to steal anything. He had arrived on board a moped that he had abandoned near the entrance to the company. Subsequent investigations on the chassis confirmed the stealthy origin.

After several unsuccessful searches in the area, the police noticed a boy on foot nearby who was immediately recognised, stopped and identified as a 30-year-old with multiple criminal convictions from Augusta. The arrest was immediately made.
