Transport, work begins on the SS16 San Severo-Foggia, for safer and more comfortable traffic – PRESS REGIONE

This morning Anas delivered the adaptation works of the SS16 “Adriatica” in the stretch between San Severo and Foggia. A construction site worth 180 million euros under the 2014-2020 FSC which involves the modernization of approximately 23 kilometers of a state road which has previously been characterized by a high level of danger and accidents. The works include the creation of parking areas, the adaptation of platforms, the reconfiguration of junctions and at-grade intersections, and the rationalization of access from secondary roads.
This is a strategic work envisaged in the Implementation Plan of the Regional Transport Plan 2021-2030 which will improve access from the north to Puglia on the Adriatic ridge, positively impacting the mobility of Foggia, San Severo and the entire Capitanata area. A stretch of road on which traffic of people and goods converges and which needs to be made more modern, comfortable and safe.
These works will be followed by extraordinary maintenance works on the West Ring Road of Foggia, with new paving, the rationalization of existing intersections, green works and the improvement of the lighting of the junctions.
