The billboard starts on Monday 6th in Treviso

(Arv) Venice 2 May. 2024 – A network in music between Municipalities and Region, because music brings people together, creates dialogue and sharing. This is the spirit that animates the first International Music Festival of the Veneto 2024, promoted by the Musica & Cultura association and the Veneto Regional Council and presented in Venice, at Palazzo Ferro Fini, in the presence of a representation of the 43 participating municipal administrations. The Music Festival opens on Monday 6 May in Treviso, in the Mario Del Monaco theatre, with the concert of the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by maestro Marco Angius, cellist Ettore Pagano (9pm): music by Schumann and Beethoven is on the program , in homage to the great European music and to the bicentenary of the performance of the German composer’s 9th symphony, which took place in Vienna on 7 May 1824. The Festival program will then continue until December with around fifty events, until the end of the year, in churches, villas, squares, gardens, theaters and monumental sites of the seven provinces of Veneto, with the direct involvement of the administrations of the capitals and smaller centres. Media partner of all Festival events is Radio Rai 3.

“After an experimental edition last year – explains Roberto Valente, general secretary of the Veneto Regional Council – in which 18 Municipalities participated, the Veneto Regional Council decided to adopt the idea and support its organisation. Music unites and this festival manages to offer a varied range of musical genres and styles, respecting the tastes of different localities, with ensembles and artists of national and international fame. We have created an institutional chain that brings together regional and local administrators, citizens of different territories and neighboring municipalities, in the name of culture and the valorisation of the most beautiful places in the Veneto”.

The artistic director of the festival, Alberto De Piero, professor of the conservatory and manager of the organization of the show, creator of the Festival formula, speaks of a regional “unicum”: “This is a ‘transversal’ project – reiterates De Piero – which aims to enhance different musical genres, classical, opera, jazz, symphonic, chamber, the great successes of Italian song and the repertoire of the most beautiful film soundtracks. The festival will celebrate historical anniversaries such as those of Giacomo Puccini, to whom an original show with semi-scenic action is dedicated which will propose an excursus among all the works of Puccini, as well as Eleonora Duse and Giacomo Matteotti, enhancing the sensitivities of the different territorial areas”. The president of the Council of Local Authorities of Veneto also underlined the value of the institutional chain that has been created in the name of music and cultural promotion.

We therefore begin on Monday 6th at the Teatro Mario del Monaco in Treviso, at 9pm, with the orchestra concert performed by the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto and the young cellist Ettore Pagano. The program will then continue on Thursday 9 May with the opera evening in the San Nicolò auditorium in Chioggia, dedicated to Giacomo Puccini on the centenary of his death, and on Friday 31 May, in the Oriago church in Mira, with the Polish duo Angelika Rzewuska and Mateusz Rzewuski, lead vocals and organ. Among the most significant events in the coming months are the concert for the Republic on 2 June in the Palazzo della Ragione in Padua, the concert of the Popes in Lorenzago di Cadore on 20 July, the Chinese Symphony Orchestra Zhejiang Conservatory on 9 August in Recoaro Terme, the concert for the November 4th celebration in Vittorio Veneto. All concerts are free to enter, thanks to the organizational support offered by the Veneto Regional Council and the synergy created by the Musica & Cultura association with the Castelfranco ‘Agostini Steffani’ music conservatory and other musical entities, together with the municipal administrations of Veneto adherents.
