POZZUOLI – The meeting “Women and science and other writings by Salvatore Morelli” which will be held on Tuesday 7 May at 10.00 at the Accademia dei Campi Flegrei (Villaggio del Fanciullo. Via Campi Flegrei, 12) is dedicated to the first defender of women’s rights. Pozzuoli). The event will be opened by the president of the Accademia dei Campi Flegrei Gea Palumbo, professor Giulio Sodano and the director of cultural heritage of the Diocese of Pozzuoli Roberto della Rocca. The speeches will be closed by Professor Maria Rosaria Pelizzari of the University of Salerno with “Salvatore Morelli and the pioneers of the vote for women”; Nicola Terracciano, president of the Risorgimento Napoletanocon Association “The writings of Salvatore Morelli of 1848″, the archaeologist Maria Teresa Moccia di Fraia with “Lto the lightness of utopia” and Gea Palumbo with Women and Science in its three different editions; The event organized and promoted by the directors of the Accademia dei Campi Flegrei Gea Palumbo, Anna Russolillo, Giulio Sodano, Roberto della Rocca, Sonia Gervasio, Maria Teresa Moccia di Fraia enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Pozzuoli and the Municipality of Carovigno (Brindisi). For the president Gea Palumbo: «The Accademia dei Campi Flegrei considered it its duty to organize this day dedicated to him in Pozzuoli, where Salvatore Morelli died and where his tomb is, remembering him for his numerous writings. From these writings will be read from his most famous work “There woman and science”. Reading will be Donatella Trotta, Flora Rucco, Francesca Maria De Cicco, Arianna Spizzico, Ciro Giacobbe, students, teachers from: Liceo Seneca, Bacoli (Loredana Garofalo, Ernesto Salemme, Francesca Samuelli, Francesca Illiano, Giuseppina Fedele, M. Rosaria Cuomo, Nicola Magliulo); Liceo Virgilio, Pozzuoli (Andreina Moio, Vincenzo Restelli, Dalila de Felice, Monica Piccolo), IIS Vittorio Emanuele II, Naples (Ciro Di Fiore), ISIS R. Montalcini, Quarto (Rosa Fontana, Antonella Chiaromonte, Michelina Carrano). The event will end at 1.30pm with a visit to Salvatore Morelli’s tombstone affixed by the Municipality of Pozzuoli.
