CASERTA – As part of the “Land of Fires” operation conducted by the Campania Group, new “Action days” concluded last week, a consolidated operational method in close collaboration with the Prefectural body delegated to manage the phenomenon of fires in the “ Land of Fires” and the Police Forces to combat, in a targeted and selective way, illegal activities for the illicit disposal of waste and for the prevention and fight against fires.
The activities were conducted in some municipalities in the area between Naples and Caserta, through a network of mobile controls along predefined itineraries, checks at production and commercial sites, which led to the seizure of various commercial activities for health and environmental violations, with consequent complaints to the owners and with the disbursement of administrative sanctions of approximately 60,000 euros.
Since the beginning of the year, 151 commercial activities have been checked, of which 112 have been seized, 37 new illegal dumping sites have been registered, 10 waste fires have been extinguished, 78 vehicles have been seized and fines amounting to approximately 700,000 euros have been issued.
There are currently around 1000 soldiers of the Army of the Campania group, based on the 82nd “Turin” infantry regiment, who contribute to the defense of the citizen, guaranteeing an effective security framework through the execution of static and dynamic activities, for the prevention and the fight against illegal activities.
