And if the system, especially in the North, often serves to evade or not pay VAT or super tax for luxury vehicles, in the shadow of Vesuvius it serves to significantly reduce insurance costs, now prohibitive for an average family. «It’s the fault of the unsustainable premiums that favor the phenomenon of insurance evasion with many foreign acronyms», he explains Antonio Coviello, national guarantor of insured persons (Andci) during the hearing in the Finance Committee of the Chamber for the examination of the bill for the establishment of a minimum premium on a national basis for those who have not had an accident for a decade, signed by the Avs deputy Francesco Borrelli. «Campania is the region in which the most significant increase has been recorded in the cost of car insurance and this, not only because it is here that fraudulent organizations are continually discovered which add further damage to the territory and to honest motorists, but because sometimes it is the very policy of the insurance companies that eludes a series of strict preventive controls which would certainly help to nip a good part of the illicit temptations in the bud. The checks must be done upstream. This is why we have proposed a law on the single national tariff for those who do not commit accidents, a way to have fairness”, he explains Francesco Borrelli.

From the insurance world, it emerged yesterday, however this time there is not a total closure. «Borrelli’s initiative can represent the beginning of a new path, aimed at recognizing virtuous Italian citizens with preferential tariffs in the absence of accidents», he explains Angelo Coviello representing the insurance sector in the commission. He then explains how «vehicle insurance premiums contribute significantly to state coffers, with approximately 26 percent of the sums paid that support public finances.
