Yesterday in Imola, we celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of the death of two Formula 1 legends: Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger.

Thousands of enthusiasts and supporters gathered at the Imola racetrack to pay homage to the two drivers who lost their lives in tragic accidents during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

At 2.17pm, the precise time of Senna’s accident at Tamburello, a moving minute of silence was observed.

Among those present were illustrious personalities such as the vice-president of the Council of Ministers, Antonio Tajani, and representatives of the Brazilian and Austrian governments, united in the memory of these two champions.

The institutional ceremony saw the participation of important figures, including Ayrton Senna’s nephew, Bruno Senna, the president of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, and the president of Formula Imola, Gian Carlo Minardi.

The president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, and Roland Ratzenberger’s father also paid tribute to the two pilots.

At the end of the minute’s silence, flowers were laid at the Curva Tamburello and the Curva Villeneuve, symbolic places of the fatal accidents of Senna and Ratzenberger.
