A tragic accident marked the late afternoon on the outskirts between Aprilia and Cisterna. A dramatic road accident took place along Via Mediana, a road that connects Campoverde to Cisterna.
The accident involved a Peugeot, inside which five people of African origin were travelling. The vehicle, for reasons yet to be ascertained, lost control, leaving the road and violently colliding with a telephone line pole and a surrounding wall. The tragic toll was one dead and four injured, who were immediately rescued by the 118 teams and transported to hospital in critical condition.
The firefighters, the Carabinieri and the Local Police of Aprilia intervened promptly at the site of the accident, starting the necessary investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. From an initial analysis, no other vehicles were involved in the accident. Investigations are underway to determine the precise causes of the skid that led to the fatal impact.
