Imola, 17 May 2024 – A village noisy and colourful, already crowded with fans, but in which the Imola people were great protagonists. The Fan zone in via Malsicura, yesterday opened exceptionally also to non-holders of tickets for the Formula 1 Grand Prixis one of the most characteristic features of the modern Circus between driving simulators, display of historic cars, food and lots of music. In the large square behind the central stands of theAt the racetrack you can buy t-shirts and hats or have fun with games and virtual reality. And a podium has also been recreated on which to take souvenir photos with the inevitable bottle of sparkling wine.

The stage hosted yesterday afternoon the awards for the competitions ‘The Autodrome in the city: sustainability and inclusion for an Autodrome open to all’, ‘Giardini in corsa’ and ‘Formula 1 in the window’, organized by the Municipality to beautify and make Imola more attractive, precisely in the period of great events on the track. All this by making economic operators protagonists, productive activities and schools with initiatives linked to the Grand Prix. The winners were awarded by the mayor Marco Panieri, the vice mayor and councilor for the School, Fabrizio Castellari, and the councilors for the Autodromo, Elena Penazzi, and for Productive Activities and the Historic Centre, Pierangelo Raffini.

Among the schools, the prize was awarded ex aequo to the 4th A and 4th B classes of the San Giovanni Bosco primary school. The recognition consists of an entrance for the entire class and their teachers to the Enzo and Dino Ferrari, during one of the events on the track, with a guided tour of the paddock and explanation of the safety measures, visit to the race control and the timekeepers’ room.

In the flowerbed competition, Andrea Iperico, a gardener who also made use of the collaboration of the La Tartaruga social-employment center in Seacoop, won the first prize and the 800 euros expected for the winner; in second place Cims (500 euros) and in third place Il Quadrifoglio (300 euros).

The first prize for the Formula 1 competition in the window (500 euros), but the Mamigì shop in Giada Savoia (via Fanin, 7) won it; in second place (300 euros) Jolie by Juna Fontanelli (piazza Matteotti, 12-13); third place (200 euros) for Nuova Landi by Nadia Marani and Paola Lobbruzzo (viale Saffi, 26E). “We wanted to re-propose competitions that we had already experimented with in previous years – comment the mayor Panieri and the councilors –. This time too the involvement we wanted in the city was fully successful”.

Before of the Imola, it was the turn of Frédéric Vasseur, Ferrari team principal, to greet the many faithful of the Prancing Horse team from the Fan zone stage. “After the cancellation of last season, we are happy to be able to compete again in Imola in front of our fans, who I am sure will crowd the racetrack – said Vasseur –. we are confident that we can be protagonists on the track, that we will be there at the front to fight.”
